Palai (PA-lie): (verb) To smear, to rub--with grease, ointment, lotion, etc., to grease, to spread--as in butter.
Uses:
"Hu palai i pan nu mayonnaise." = "I spread mayonnaise on the bread."
"Ha palai i nana i tiyon påtgon ni lañan niyok." = "The mother rubbed coconut oil on the kid's stomach."
"Hokkok eyu i pinalai-mu cream cheese." = "Your cream cheese spread is all gone."

ReplyDeleteI'll try to put in the pronunciation, but there are several words that I have no clue on how to do that... Remember, if you sound out the word, most likely you'll get the pronunciation. If you doubt yourself, go ahead and call me up, I'll tell you to say it.
